Exhibition Design
Braun 100
Broehan Museum Berlin
Marking a Century of Design: Braun’s Legacy of Form and Function. A century after its founding, the exhibition celebrates Braun’s most iconic designs and explores the dynamic relationship between design, art, and politics across its 100-year history.
At the heart of the exhibition’s design is the reconstructed stand from the 1955 Radio Exhibition in Düsseldorf—a groundbreaking aesthetic created by the Visual Communication Department at HfG Ulm, led by Otl Aicher and Hans G. Conrad, with Hans Gugelot’s collaboration. Defined by clarity, spatial simplicity, and understated confidence, this design revolutionized visual communication.
Few brands encapsulate the aesthetic of post-war Germany as distinctly as Braun. From razors to hi-fi systems, watches to kitchen appliances, Braun’s products share a cohesive formal language and intuitive usability that continue to define functionalist design. Visionary designers like Wilhelm Wagenfeld, Hans Gugelot, and Dieter Rams shaped this enduring legacy.
